The Nippon Sei Ko Kai (Anglican Communion in Japan) has elected the Rt. Rev. John Junichiro Furumoto, Bishop of Kobe, as Primate for a two-year term. Bishop Furumoto succeeds the Rt. Rev. John Makoto Takeda, retiring Bishop of Tokyo. Until his election, Bishop Furumoto had served his entire ministry at Church of the Ascension, Kobe.
