The Rt. Rev. Charles E. Bennison, Bishop of the Diocese of Western
Michigan, blessed some two dozen animals assembled at the Cathedral of Christ
the King in Kalamazoo at the beginning of the 108th annual convention of the
diocese. The animals, along with cash donations totaling nearly $50,000, went
to Heifer Project International. Pictured with Bennison is the Rev. Canon
John L. Peterson who left after the convention to begin work as the new dean
of St. George's College in Jerusalem. Chris Oman of St. Gregory's Church
