Supporters of Women Priests Wait for Vote Tally.
Supporters of legislation allowing women to be ordained priests in the Church of England huddle around a radio broadcast of the
debate inside Synod Hall in London. Following the debate, nail biting, praying, and sighs turned to tears, singing, and shouts of
joy as the vote carried by the required two-thirds majority in each house of the General Synod.
