Vermont Consecrates First Woman Diocesan Bishop.
On November 1 the Diocese of Vermont consecrated the first woman to serve as a diocesan
bishop in the Episcopal Church at an exuberant service in Burlington. Bishop Mary Adelia
McLeod blessed the congregation following the consecration, assisted by her son, Harrison.
