2. The Rt. Rev. Fine Tenga'ila Halapua was consecrated Suffragan Bishop of Nuku'alofa and Assistant Bishop in Polynesia Aug. 27 in Nuku'alofa, the capital city of the Kingdom of Tonga. The service was conducted primarily in Tongan, and the sermon, preached by the Rt. Rev. John C. Vockler was also in Tongan. Among those present was the Rt. Rev. Robert C. Rusack, Suffragan Bishop of Los Angeles. In the photo Bishop Halapua is kneeling. On his left is the Rt. Rev. Dudley Tuti, Assistant Bishop in Melanesia and on his right the Rt. Rev. Eric Austin Gowing, the Bishop of Auckland, New Zealand. Chief consecrator was the Most Rev. Norman Alfred Lesser, Archbishop of New Zealand.
