Eighty years ago the buildings in the South End of Boston were private homes. Today, people earning marginal incomes, the poor and dispossessed live in the area. Through the South End Tenants Council many of the buildings that have been allowed to rot and decay are being purchased and rehabilitated through an autonomous tenant management firm, a brain child of the Tenants Council.
