The Crossing, above, in the Cathedral of Saint Peter and Saint Paul (Washington National Cathedral), will be the scene of most parts of the installation service in the nation's capital, June 10-11, for the Rt. Rev. John Maury Allin as the 23rd Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church. The inaugural celebration will begin with a Eucharist at 6:00 p. m. on June 10 and the highlight will be the actual "seating" of Bishop Allin as the spiritual leader and chief executive officer of the 3.2 million member church. The High Altar is seen in the background.
