CLEVELAND, Ohio-- Trinity Cathedral's Gallery at Trinity Commons presents truart: the art of TrU2U-the first show of visual art done by TrU2U's teenagers and parents, featuring nearly 50 pieces of art. The program was designed to reduce behaviors that put African- American youth ages 11-14 at risk for contracting HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. STUDIO CITY, California -- Choral Singing 101, a four-week Thursday course taught by director of music J. Wingate Greathouse, will take place at St. Michael & All Angels Church, 3646 Coldwater Canyon Avenue. The class is expected to be fun and non-threatening, and will focus on posture, breathing, creating a tone, reading music, and singing by sight. Each session will end with the preparation of a hymn that will be sung at St. Michael's the following Sunday. Cost: $5 per session ($20 total) for materials. Advance reservations requested. SALTER PATH, North Carolina -- The Episcopal Diocese of East Carolina will host the 17th annual Conference on Church Music at Trinity Camp and Conference Center, on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, August 18-21, 2005. Guest clinician will be David Flood, organist and master of choristers at Canterbury Cathedral in England. In addition various workshops will be offered including motet performance, playing the service, improvisation, handbells, developing a children's choir, vocalization, and anthems for choirs. A children's music conference for fourth through ninth graders will occur simultaneously with clinician Ginger Wyrick, professor of music at Queens College in Charlotte, NC. Solos, duets and trios by the baroque master Heinrich Schuetz will be sung by the following early music specialists from Boston and New York: Pamela Murray - soprano, who has sung with the Handel & Haydn Society, Boston Baroque and Emmanuel Music; Ruth Cunningham - soprano, who toured and recorded with Anonymous 4 for ten years, currently singing with Early Music New York; James Ruff - tenor, who has sung with the Boston Early Music Festival Opera, Early Music New York and New York City Opera; Jennifer Griesbach, of Duo Seraphim, will accompany at the organ. Nikkel is remembered by the Sudanese as an evangelist and peace-maker who helped bring together more than 2000 feuding tribes in Southern Sudan for peace talks. The Rev.
