Beginning this weekend, parishes throughout the Episcopal Church will celebrate with their annual Blessing of the Animals services. Contact your local diocesan office for services near you.

WILMINGTON, DELAWARE: Blessing of the Animals ---The Episcopal Church of Saint Andrew and Matthew will hold their annual Blessing of the Animals service October 1, at 1 p.m. in the auditorium. Led by the Rev. Canon Lloyd S. Casson, after a brief liturgy, each animal will receive a blessing, a St. Francis medallion and treats. NEW BRUNSWICK, NEW JERSEY: New Brunswick Chamber Orchestra performs --- Join the New Brunswick Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of Mark Trautman, on October 1, 2005, 7:30 p.m. in the Kirkpatrick Chapel, as they perform Music of the Americas including Carlos Chávez's "Sarabanda para cuerdas" and Aaron Copland's "Appalachian Spring." LIVINGSTON, NEW JERSEY: Blessing of the Animals to raise funds for animals of Hurricane Katrina --- St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Livingston will offer a Blessing of the Animals on October 1, 2005, 10-11:30 a.m. in celebration of St. Francis Day and collect a free-will offering to help animals rescued after Hurricane Katrina. The blessings will take place on the front lawn of the house next to the church located at 94 East Mount Pleasant Avenue. For information call 973.992.1932.

ROCHESTER, NEW YORK: Conversations about the Windsor report ---

The Provincial Council of Province II will host a second "Conversations About the Windsor Report" meeting on Saturday, October 1, St. Thomas' Church, Rochester, New York. The meeting begins at 10 a.m. and concludes by 3 p.m. Lunch will be provided, as well as copies of "Understanding the Windsor Report" and "To Set Our Hope on Christ." To help offset the cost of lunch and materials, there is a $15 registration fee, payable at the door. LOS ANGELES: Global Crises and Religion: Are we part of the solution or part of the problem? ---

This interfaith panel discussion, which will take place at the Cathedral Center of St. Paul on October 2, 2005, will feature an impressive slate of panelists, including representatives of the Muslim, Sikh, Buddhist, Hindu, Jewish and Christian communities of Southern California. It is sponsored by the diocesan Commission on Ecumenical and Interreligious Concerns. The Cathedral Center is located at 840 Echo Park Avenue.

NEWARK, NEW JERSEY: Diocese welcomes Bishop Gallagher --- Trinity & St. Philip's Cathedral, Newark will host an Evensong Celebration on October 2, 2005 at 4 p.m. to welcome Bishop Carol Gallagher to the diocese. Gallagher, former bishop of Southern Virginia, is the Diocese of Newark's assistant bishop. Trinity & St. Philip's is located at 608 Broad Street.

WASHINGTON, DC: Blessing of the Animals will include dogs rescued after Katrina --- Washington National Cathedral will celebrate St. Francis Day on October 4, 2005, in Walker Court, with a Blessing of the Animals that will include dogs rescued from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.
