ECUMENICAL SERVICE HELD IN PARIS

In observance of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, a joint Anglican, Roman Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant service was held for the first time in a Roman Catholic Church in Paris, St. Pierre de Chaillot.

Canon Pieplu of St. Pierre gave the address. The Very Rev. Sturgis Lee Riddle of the American Pro-Cathedral and the Rev. Roger Greenacre of St. George's English Church said the prayers. Metropolitan Meletios of the Greek Orthodox Church pronounced the benediction. The music was provided by the choirs of the American Episcopal and Greek Orthodox Cathedrals. The church was filled to overflowing by an ecumenical congregation. Following the service, a reception was held in the crypt of the church.

EPISCOPALIANS TO ATTEND WORLD COUNCIL MEETING

Editor of Forward Movement Publications, Dr. James Kennedy of Cincinnati, and Dr. Peter Day of New York, Ecumenical Officer, will be among the 30 Americans attending the 1966 meeting of the World Council of Churches Central Committee in Geneva Feb. 8 - 17.

"The Ecumenical Way and the Specific Role of the World Council of Churches" is the theme of the meeting, where a major action will be the selection of a new general secretary. Chairman of an 18-member nominating committee is the Rt. Rev. John Sadiq, Anglican Bishop of Nagpur, India.

Relations with Roman Catholics and conservative evangelicals outside the Council will also be discussed.
