Bishop Van Duzer Consecrated

On Monday, Jan. 24, at Trinity Cathedral, Trenton, N. J. the Rt. Rev. Albert W. Van Duzer was consecrated Suffragan Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of New Jersey.
Presiding Bishop Hines was consecrator; The Rt. Rev. Alfred L. Baiyard, Bishop of New Jersey, and the Rt. Rev. Jonathan G. Sherman, Senior Suffragan Bishop of Long Island, were co-consecrators.
There had been no consecration in the Diocese of New Jersey in the past twenty years. The last one was that of the present Diocesan, Bishop Banyard.
The preacher at the service was the Rt. Rev. Albert E. Swift. The Rt. Rev. Charles F. Boyton, Suffragan Bishop of New York, was litanist. The Rt. Rev. Charles W. MacLean, Suffragan Bishop of Long Island, was Epistoler and the Rt. Rev. Horace W. B. Donegan, Bishop of New York, was Gospeller.
Bishop Van Duzer began his ministry at Grace Church, Merchantville, N.J. and has served this parish since, with the exception of two years as rector of Church of the Advent, Cape May, N. J. He has been active in diocesan affairs, holding many positions on various commissions, boards and foundations.
