May Fellowship Day May 6
Diocesan Press Service. March 8, 1966 [41-7]
The United Church Women will observe May Fellowship Day Friday, May 6.
This day is designed to help establish a fellowship of faith - a faith that to be living must be expressed in works.
What are these works? It is the work to which church women, united, pledged themselves a year ago - the battle on poverty, which they are concentrating on for a three year period under the theme "People, Poverty, Plenty."
Women, after a year of study on the nature and extent of poverty in this country, are focusing on action. In informal groups, using the study pamphlet "Discover, Plan, ACT" by Elizabeth Johns, they are already involving themselves in discovering the needs of the poor and selecting the best channel for work toward the elimination of poverty.
