Clergy Deployment Board Seeks Responses

NEW YORK, N.Y. (DPS) -- An intensive effort to reach the 3,600 clergy who have not yet responded to the Clergy Deployment Questionnaire will be made in the next few months. Individual letters will be sent to these clergy by The Rt. Rev. John J. Burt of Ohio, Clergy Deployment Board Chairman.
In the letter Bishop Burt will urge the clergy to cooperate with the new program. He will also explain that because of the expense of adding clergy to the system one at a time, the Board has set a deadline of December 31, 1972. Those who choose to submit their data after that date will be asked to bear a part of the expense by paying a fee of $12. 50. Men who are newly ordained will continue to be added free of charge.
