Malguramas Consecrated in the Philippines

QUEZON CITY, Philippines -- The Rev. Constancio Ruanda Malguramas was consecrated as the second Suffragan Bishop of the Philippines at the Cathedral of St. Mary and St. John on January 25, 1969.
The Rt. Rev. Benito C. Cabanban, Bishop of the Philippines, served as consecrator. Co-consecrators in the service were the Rt. Rev. Edward G. Longid, Suffragan Bishop of the Philippines, and the Rt. Rev. James C. L. Wong, Missionary Bishop of Taiwan.
The new Bishop was elected by the House of Bishops of the Episcopal Church at their meeting in Augusta, Ga., in October. A graduate of St. Andrew's Seminary, Manila, he was rector of Holy Trinity Church, Zamboanga City, Mindanao, at the time of his election to the Episcopate.
