ARE YOU PREPARED FOR

THE COMMUNICATION EXPLOSION?

AS CABLE TV COMES (and it's coming)

HOW WILL YOU GET READY ?

PUBLIC ACCESS TO CABLE (COMMUNITY) TV

Will you know what to do with it when you get it?

C A T V , The new mission field -An unparalleled opportunity for the Church and other volunteer organizations to do a great service,

Or a great chance to fall flat on your face?

(Where are the CROCODILES HIDING ?)

"Kerygma and Communication" is designed to help you find the answer to these near-term communications problems/opportunities.

Young people (under 35) believe it's real when they see it on TV.

Television is the "authenticating" medium. It gives confirming weight to contemporary reality.

Are you prepared to use COMMUNITY TV in your enterprise/outreach/mission?

Industry is now hip-deep in TRAINING FOR TELEVISION,

Training their communication people in the science of non-print communication.

WHAT IS "KERYGMA AND COMMUNICATION?"

It is an intensive workshop in modern communications knowledge and practice, designed to provide Churchmen with awareness of communication. It offers opportunity to become immersed in the communications process by actively translating messages into newer media forms. It provides experience which will enable the participant to take advantage of all local communications resources - print, radio, television-- current and future.

HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN ?

The symposium gives a unique opportunity in communications experiences through:

1. A core study of the cultural relationships and principles common to all communication endeavors, including those peculiar to the church.

2. Studio - laboratory sessions providing for intensive immersion in message creation, translation and production, using television as representative of the newer media.
