Episcopal Asiamerica Ministry Assistant Appointed

NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Mrs. Nancie Oyama has been appointed executive assistant in the office of the Episcopal Asiamerica Ministry. She will assist executive officer the Rev. Winston W. Ching.
Born in Nebraska, Mrs. Oyama graduated from business college in Denver, Colo. She has lived in San Francisco since 1958.
She has been an active communicant at Grace Cathedral, San Francisco, and is a representative from the San Francisco Dunery to the Diocesan Council, of which she is secretary.
She is one of three Episcopalians serving as board members of the Asian Center for Theological Strategies. She is also a member of the Advisory Council of the Episcopal Church Foundation.
In San Francisco, Mrs. Oyama has been involved in many volunteer activities, including the Cancer Society, the San Francisco Education Auxiliary, politics, the Episcopal Residence Home, and the True Sunshine Parish Pre-School.
She lived in Japan from 1948 to 1958 during which time she studied floral arranging, cooking and language.
Her office is at the Episcopal Church Center, New York City.
