Mrs. Collings Named Church Army President

NEW YORK, N.Y. -- The Church Army in the U.S.A. has announced that effective August 1, 1974, Mrs. Thomas J. Collings became President of the Board of Trustees, replacing the Rev. Dr. H. Boone Porter, Jr.
Because of the press of professional duties and commitments, Dr. Porter, executive director, Roanridge Conference Center at Kansas City, found it necessary to resign his post as President of The Church Army's Board of Trustees. The Church Army is pleased that Dr. Porter will continue on its Board.
Mrs. Collings, the first woman to be President of The Church Army's Board in the Society's 47 -year history in the United States, had been First Vice President. She has served on the Board of Trustees for 12 years. In addition, she is actively engaged in other Church and community programs, such as being on the Board of Youth Consultation Services of New York; Council of the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island; and Chairman, Christian Education, Episcopal Churchwomen of the Diocese of Long Island.
The Church Army's National Office is located at 815 Second Avenue, New York City. The Rev. Logan E. Taylor is the Society's National Executive.
