Sixth Trinity Institute Conference Announced

NEW YORK, N.Y. -- The 6th Annual National Conference of the Trinity Institute of the Parish of Trinity Church in New York City will focus on the question of the nature of the ministry, it was announced by the Rev. Robert E. Terwilliger, director.
The Conference, which attracted more than 2,000 Episcopal clergy last year, will be held April 21-23 at the Riverside Church in New York and April 27 -29 at Grace Cathedral, San Francisco.
Commenting on the theme, "The Gift of the Ministry," Dr. Terwilliger said, "Before we decide on who should be ordained, we need to know what ordination is. The purpose of our meeting will be to place the whole question in the context of the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit."
Participants in the Conference will include:
The Rev. John Macquarrie, Canon of Christ Church, Oxford, and Lady Margaret Professor of Divinity, Oxford University; the Rt. Rev. Graham Douglas Leonard, Bishop of Truro;
The Rt. Rev. John M. Allin, Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church; the Rev. Thomas Hopko, St. Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary, New York;
The Rev. Michael Marshal, Vicar of All Saints', Margaret Street, London; and the Very Rev. Harvey H. Guthrie, Jr., Dean, Episcopal Divinity School, Cambridge.
