Memo: Addresses on Draft Proposed Book of Common Prayer

In response to requests from some members of the House of Bishops, Bishop Chilton Powell of Oklahoma and Suffragan Bishop Morgan Porteus of Connecticut have prepared transcripts of addresses they made at the House of Bishops meeting in Portland, Maine, in September. Bishop Powell is chairman of both the House of Bishops' committee on the Prayer Book and Liturgy and the General Convention's Standing Liturgical Commission. Bishop Porteus is a member of the Standing Liturgical Commission.
