Bishops Gray and Jones Announce Resignation

NEW YORK, N.Y. (DPS) -- Two Bishops of the Episcopal Church recently have announced plans to retire from the active ministry, and their resignations have been accepted.
The Rt. Rev. Walter H. Gray, Bishop of Connecticut, will retire April 30 and will be succeeded by the Rt. Rev. John H. Esquirol, Bishop Coadjutor.
The Rt. Rev. Girault M. Jones, Bishop of Louisiana, will retire August 31 and will be succeeded by the Rt. Rev. Iveson B. Noland, Bishop Coadjutor. A Bishop Coadjutor has an automatic right of succession.
