Regional Religious Education Coordinators Named
Episcopal News Service. February 3, 1977 [77029]
NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Seventeen Regional Religious Education Coordinators have been named for the nine provinces of the Episcopal Church.
The coordinators are appointed as consultants to the Office of Religious Education at the Episcopal Church Center to serve as regional extensions of that office. They are under contract to serve 14 days per year as resource information persons and enablers and to encourage regional and diocesan Christian education activities. They will also serve as consultants to the Church Center office for information and opinion, and as consultants to Christian education leaders in the provinces.
The coordinators also participate in the grant program of the Office of Christian Education, serving as enablers and clarifiers for procedures and applications. Questions about the grant program may be directed to the coordinator in your area.
In announcing the appointments for 1977, the Rev. David W. Perry, national coordinator of the Office of Religious Education commented: "The regional coordinator system has been a valuable aid in enabling the local area to share Christian education resources. The three-year history of the Regional Religious Education Coordinators has been marked by a willingness on the part of the coordinators to give generously of their time and talents. The response to that on the part of diocesan and provincial Christian educators has been to regard their aid as encouraging and a positive factor in the work of Christian education."
