General Convention Treasurer Appointed

New York, N.Y.. -- Mr. Kenneth W. Miller of the Diocese of Long Island has been appointed Treasurer of the General Convention of the Episcopal Church, according to an announcement by the presidents of the two houses of that legislative body.
The Rt. Rev. John M. Allin, Presiding Bishop and President of the House of Bishops, and Dr. Charles R. Lawrence, President of the House of Deputies, made the appointment of Mr. Miller, who will serve until the next meeting of the General Convention in Denver in the fall of 1979.
In addition to serving as Treasurer of the General Convention -- which is a part-time position -- Mr. Miller is Treasurer of the Diocese of Long Island. He has served in that diocese's Garden City office as controller and treasurer for 15 years.
A native of Sayville, N.Y., Mr. Miller is married to the former Audrey Lafferrandre and they have three children and four grandchildren.
He was educated at the New York Merchant Marine Academy and has been employed by Socony Vacuum Co. as ship's officer, by the Marine Office of America, and by the Eastern Federal Loan Association of Sayville.
He has been active in the work of St. Ann's Episcopal Church in Sayville as a lay reader for 25 years and as chairman of various committees. As chairman of the Adult Education Committee of the Diocese of Long Island he has conducted vestry training programs throughout the diocese.
His memberships include the Church Club, the Association for Training and Development, the Conference of Diocesan Executives, and the Association for Creative Change.
