Regional Training Conferences for Venture Campaigns Planned

NEW YORK, N.Y. -- The National Diocesan Campaigns Committee of the Episcopal Church's Venture in Mission program has given tentative approval to a schedule of eight regional training clinics in preparation for the Church-wide canvass in the first six months of 1979.
Twenty of the 22 members of the committee, chaired by K. Wade Bennett of Arlington, Tex., gave provisional approval to the following sites and dates for the training conferences, to which each diocese is invited to send its bishop, a priest and two lay persons: Oct. 16-17, Mexico City, Province IX; Oct. 24, Alexandria, Va., Province m; Oct. 26, Dallas, Tex., Province VII; Oct. 31, Atlanta, Ga., Province IV; Nov. 3, Chicago, Ill., Province V; Nov. 7, Denver, Province VI; Nov. 14, Greenwich, Conn., Provinces I and II; and February, 1979, San Francisco, Calif., Province VIII.
The purpose of the regional training sessions is to provide general information on how to proceed with the various planning stages and final execution of the capital funds campaigns in the dioceses.
The committee at its Sept. 26 meeting also reviewed the status of the planning to date in each of the dioceses of the Church.
Consideration was given to suggested sites for the offices of regional directors who will assist dioceses during the campaigns next Jan. 1 through June 30.
