Nancy Marvel Named to P.B. Fund Position

NEW YORK -- The Rt. Rev. John M. Allin, Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church, has appointed Mrs. Nancy L. Marvel to be assistant for administration of the Presiding Bishop's Fund for World Relief, effective Feb. 1.
Mrs. Marvel has been administrative assistant and secretary to the Presiding Bishop at the Episcopal Church Center here since October 1976.
In her new position with the Presiding Bishop's Fund, she will coordinate the fiscal reporting and administrative detail, including a grant reporting process, in support of the Fund and its director. The job requires record keeping to control a $3 million to $5 million schedule of receipts and disbursements. The Fund's grants are made for crisis needs abroad and in the United States, for refugee resettlement, for agricultural, community and technological development, for medical and health services, for hunger needs, for rehabilitation support, and for education.
Mrs. Marvel, who is a native of Glen Ridge, N.J., has worked previously as executive secretary with RCA Radio Marine and Bing Crosby Enterprises and was secretary and sold radio time with Henry I. Christel Co. She has also been area coordinator for the United Way of Westchester and director of the United Fund of the Pelhams.
A member of the Parish of Christ the Redeemer, Pelham, N.Y., she has been active in the congregational life as well as participating actively in the work of the Church at the national, regional and diocesan levels.
She is married to Robert C. Marvel and they have four children.
