Two Church Center Staff Appointments Made

NEW YORK -- The Rt. Rev. John M. Allin, Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church, has announced the appointment of a staff officer for youth and young adult ministry and a secretary in his office.

Mrs. Marjorie A. Kivell of Bronxville, N. Y., has been appointed secretary to the Presiding Bishop, and Mrs. Bobbie L. Bevill of Huntsville, Ala., has been named to coordinate the youth and young adult ministry at the Episcopal Church Center. Both appointments are effective Feb. 1.

Mrs. Kivell, who has served as secretary in the higher education ministry office since 1980, is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Colby College and has done graduate work in humanities at Manhattanville College.

She has served as medical secretary at New York Hospital-Cornell University Medical College; assistant dean and then administrative assistant to the dean of Sarah Lawrence College, and later as administrative assistant to the dean of faculty and dean of studies; and director of academic advising at Manhattanville College.

She is married to Donald W. Kivell, director of broadcast control and communications at NBC-TV, and they have four children. They are members of Christ Church, Bronxville.

Mrs. Bevill comes to the youth and young adult position following active work with youth in the Diocese of Alabama and Province IV. She has been district advisor in the diocese and youth ministry coordinator for Province IV. She has coordinated youth programs at Kanuga Conference Center and has most recently served as diocesan youth advisor for the Diocese of Alabama.

In her position she will work closely with colleagues in the Education for Mission and Ministry unit at the Church Center.

She and her two teenage daughters are members of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Huntsville.
