C.O.D.E. is a professional organization of full time diocesan executives who serve the Church in areas of administration, planning, personnel and program. Each year diocesan bishops are invited to propose new members to join the annual conferences, which seek to "serve the Church with the bishops... in the development of effective organizational and executive procedures, and to provide a primary vehicle of communication among the members and with the national Church for planning, program and administration."
At the business meeting, members approved a resolution to provide full scholarships to two executives serving in Province IX, in an effort to draw all parts of the Church into its membership, and encouraged consideration of future workshops devoted to topics of Hispanic ministries.
The steering committee elected to plan next year's conference, which will be held April 7-11 in North Palm Beach, Fla., includes the Rev. Canon William F. Kirkpatrick, Diocese of Washington, chairman; the Rev. Charles L. Johnson, Diocese of Virginia, vice-chairman; Mrs Evelyn Haygood, Diocese of Dallas, treasurer; Mary Lou Lavallee, Western Massachusetts, secretary; the Rev. Charles F. Wilkins, Diocese of Kootenay (Canada) and Vincent Currie, Jr., Diocese of Central Gulf Coast.
