NEW YORK (DPS, Jan. 28) - The Rev. James G. Wilson has been named associate director of the Church Deployment Office of the Episcopal Church.

Wilson has long been a deployment consultant to parishes, dioceses, and clergy. His leadership of numerous clergy workshops and conferences led to his co-authorship of More Than Fine Gold, a widely used deployment manual for clergy which is distributed by CDO. He has been involved for many years in a wide range of clergy concerns, particularly in connection with the National Network of Episcopal Clergy Associations, of which he is a former national President. He has worked on a number of national Church committees and other groups relating to ministry issues, most recently as a member of the Title III Revision Committee of the Council for the Development of Ministry.

As associate director, Wilson will work closely with the executive director, William A. Thompson in all areas of deployment, including programming searches for vacancies; training; working with diocesan deployment officers and other diocesan leaders; initiating resource material on deployment; and advising individuals engaged in job searches.

Wilson is married and has two sons. His wife, Regina, is a junior high school science teacher in the Watertown school system in Conn. His sons Michael and Christopher, are students at Highboard College and Duke University respectively.
