Episcopal News Service. June 23, 1988 [88139]

NEW YORK (DPS, June 23) -- The Episcopal Computer Users Group, sponsored by the Church Pension Fund, will provide a special service to its members during General Convention. According to George Pascucci, President of the Group, Mr. Edgar Markham, a Convention deputy from St. Stephen's Church, Gilroy, Calif., will be on-site at Convention to relay highlights and up-to-date information regarding Convention events through E.U.G.E.N.E., the Episcopal Computer Users Group Electronic Exchange.

As an organization devoted to meeting the needs of parish and diocesan staff who work with computers, the Episcopal Computer Users Group provides its members with a vehicle to share experiences and take advantage of computer expertise within the Church. Computer literacy in the Church has increased as a result.

Membership is available to those non-profit, Episcopal Church-related groups who use computers, software, and/or word processors in the service of the Episcopal Church. Dues of $35 a year entitle members to newsletters, membership materials, discounts on computer products, and access to E.U.G.E.N.E., a toll-free electronic bulletin board, which features hundreds of free software programs along with various message areas for general discussions, technical information, Cursillo, Marriage Encounter, financial planning, the Episcopal Conference of the Deaf, and General Convention news and views. In addition, members are assured an invitation (and substantial discounts) to the Users Group annual EXPO.

Further membership information can be obtained by contacting Lisa Kaste at the Church Pension Fund, 800-223-6602, ext. 761.
