Conferences on housing issues to be held in May and June

The Executive Council housing committee will offer two regional housing conferences in May and June 1990. A conference to cover all dioceses in Province IV will be held at St. Columba Episcopal Conference Center in Memphis, Tennessee, May 3-5. The conference will feature workshops on development of diocesan housing ministries, housing for low and moderate income families, innovative housing ministries for parishes, and single room occupancy (SRO) housing. The keynote speaker will be the Rev. Daniel Matthews, rector of Trinity Parish of Wall Street, New York City.
A second conference to cover the northern portion of Province VIII, including Alaska, Hawaii, and the dioceses of Montana and Wyoming, will be held at the Franciscan Renewal Center in Portland, Oregon, June 28-30. The conference will feature workshops on housing for the elderly, handicapped, and chronically mentally ill, as well as SRO/homeless shelters. Keynote speaker for the Northwest conference will be the Fev. Dr. John Fitterer, chairman of the board of the Episcopal Homes Foundation, Diocese of California.
