Diocesan Press Service. December 30, 1970 [91-23]

NEW YORK, N.Y. -- The Executive Council of the Episcopal Church has taken a step to improve communication with the whole church through the organization of seven new Standing Committees and the creation of nine Advisory Program Groups.

The move, according to Episcopal Church leaders, is expected to provide a way for the Executive Council to respond more effectively to the needs of the church and to create a closer liaison with the Council staff.

The Standing Committees will be composed of Executive Council members, and the Advisory Program Groups will include Executive Council members, staff representatives and others from the church at large.
