Diocesan Jubilee Officers Elect New Officers
Episcopal News Service. November 8, 1991 [91222O]
Diocesan Jubilee Officers elected new leadership during a recent meeting in Estes Park, Colorado. The Rev. Roy Turner of the Diocese of Central Pennsylvania and the Rev. Richard Frank of the Diocese of Utah were elected co-convenors. The Rev. Hunter Morris of the Diocese of West Texas was elected treasurer; Phyllis Maryfield of the Diocese of Indianapolis was elected secretary; and the Rev. Ed Sunderland of the Diocese of Arizona was chosen to direct communication efforts. Participants at the conference exchanged ideas on improving services to their clients, as well as ways to seek financial support for their work. Plans were begun for a 10th anniversary celebration for Jubilee Ministries next summer. The Jubilee program, which originated with a General Convention resolution in 1982, designates congregations, dioceses, and ecumenical clusters that are engaged in ministry with the poor as "Jubilee Centers." There are currently 140 Jubilee Centers and/or Ministries in the nation.
