Elections at Executive Council Meeting

GREENWICH, Conn. -- Five persons were elected to various offices by the Executive Council of the Episcopal Church at its meeting here May 18-20.
Judge Chester Byrns of the Diocese of Western Michigan was elected to the Executive Council to replace Oscar C. Carr, Jr., who resigned in order to accept appointment by the Rt. Rev. John E. Hines, Presiding Bishop, to the post of Vice President of the Executive Council for Development.
Others who were nominated for Executive Council membership were Miss Leonora Abernathy of the Diocese of Georgia; David Johnson of the Diocese of California; Bruce Merrifield of the Diocese of Western New York, and James Winning of the Diocese of Springfield.
Elected to the Executive Committee of the Executive Council to replace Mr. Carr was Walker Taylor of the Diocese of East Carolina.
Elected as additional members of the Council's Committee on Social Criteria for Investments were Philip Masquelette of the Diocese of Texas; Houston Wilson of the Diocese of Delaware, and Mrs. J. Wilmette Wilson of the Diocese of Georgia.
