Their Paths Cross Again
Diocesan Press Service. August 1, 1962 [I-11]
CINCINNATI, OHIO. --- Years ago, in a neighborhood welfare center in Puerto Rico, an Episcopalian nun of the order of the Sisters of the Transfiguration befriended a little boy and helped to rear and educate him. With the passing of time the paths of these two travelers in God's world were destined once again to cross. Jose Diaz had grown up and become an amateur boxing champion on a Puerto Rican team competing in a national tournament at the Cincinnati Gardens. It was with special interest that Jose was looking forward to the trip, as Sister Marjorie Hope was now stationed at the convent of the Sisters of the Transfiguration in Cincinnati. The happy reunion took place at a luncheon in honor of Sister Marjorie Hope, attended by the entire boxing team from Puerto Rico.
