Blankets Needed

Diocesan Press Service. December 10, 1962 [V-20]

The Presiding Bishop and his Committee on World Relief and Interchurch Aid have requested that the Episcopal Churchwomen respond to the need for blankets among refugees in Algiers and in other parts of the world. The Committee appealed for 50,000 blankets during 1963.

The General Division of Women's Work has accepted the responsibility for making the appeal through the Diocesan Supply Secretaries cooperating with Christian Social Relations Secretaries of the Episcopal Churchwomen.

Church World Service says that 650,000 blankets are needed during the coming months in Algiers alone.

Good woolen blankets are needed, either new or used. They should be sent to the following Church World Service centers with 25 cents each for overseas shipping:

687 West 125th Street, New York 27, N. Y.

Nappanee, Indiana

New Windsor, Maryland

4165 Duncan Avenue, St. Louis 10, Mo.

3855 Elm Street, Denver, Colo.

919 Emerald Avenue, Modesto, Calif.

Episcopal tags will be available for the donors to attach to each blanket before it is sent to the CWS center.
