Two men in widely separated parts of the world were recently elevated to the episcopacy of the Church.

The Rt. Rev. Charles Bowen Persell, Jr., was consecrated Suffragan Bishop of Albany February 9 in the Cathedral of All Saints, Albany, N. Y.

Presiding Bishop Lichtenberger was consecrator. Co-consecrators were the Rt. Rev. Allen W. Brown, D.D., Bishop of Albany, and the Rt. Rev. Lauriston L. Scaife, S. T. D., Bishop of Western New York. Seven other bishops participated.

Bishop Persell was elected suffragan bishop Oct. 9, 1962. Since 1961, he had served as canon to the ordinary of the diocese.

On Feb. 2, on the other side of the globe, the Rt. Rev. Edward Guadan Longid, Suffragan Bishop of the Philippines, was consecrated in the Cathedral Church of St. Mary and St. John, Quezon City. Consecrator was the Rt. Rev. Lyman C. Ogilvy, D. D., Missionary Bishop of the Philippines, assisted by the Rt. Rev. Charles P. Gilson, D.D., Suffragan Bishop of Honolulu, and the Rt. Rev. Benito C.
