Consecration, Dedication of College in Nairobi
Diocesan Press Service. August 12, 1963 [XII-11]
Trinity College, Nairobi, the first institution of higher learning to be built since the formation of the Province of East Africa in 1960, will open its doors for classes in September.
Grants for the greater portion of the college building fund came from the Overseas Department and the budget for World Relief and Interchurch Aid of National Council.
The Most Rev. Leonard James Beecher, Bishop of Mombasa and Archbishop of the Province of East Africa, recently consecrated the chapel and dedicated other buildings at the college. Clergy from all dioceses of the Province will gather for post-ordination training with emphasis on pastoral theology and Christian ethics in order to help them meet the needs of Africa's great social and cultural changes.
