Council Members to be Named

When General Convention meets in St. Louis this October one of its agenda items will be to elect nine new National Council members.

Two of these new members will be bishops, two will be priests and five will be lay persons. All, with the exception of one layman, will serve six-year terms.

Recommendations for the new Council members will be made to Convention by a nine- man committee appointed by Presiding Bishop Lichtenberger and Clifford P. Morehouse, President of the House of Deputies.

Serving on the committee are:

The Rt. Rev. Thomas H. Wright, D. D., Bishop of East Carolina; the Rt. Rev. Russell T. Rauscher, D. D., Bishop of Nebraska; and the Rt. Rev. Lane W. Barton, D. D., Bishop of Eastern Oregon.

The Ven. David R. Thornberry, 'Archdeacon of Southern Ohio; the Rev. Gardiner M. Day, rector of Christ Church, Cambridge, Mass; and the Rev. Kenneth W. Cary, rector of St. Matthews Church, Pacific Palisades, Calif.;

George H. Greer, Owensboro, Ky.; Carl E. Steiger, Oshkosh, Wisc; and Ernest W. Greene, Washington, D. C.
