Pike on NBC Radio Series

Diocesan Press Service. June 8, 1964 [XXII-18]

The Rt. Rev. James A. Pike, Bishop of the Diocese of California, will be the guest speaker for July, August, and September on THE ART OF LIVING, heard each Sunday from 9:15 to 9:30 a.m., Eastern Daylight Time, over the NBC Radio Network.

Prior to his consecration in 1958 at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco, Bishop Pike was Dean of the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, New York City. While Dean, he served Columbia University as Adjunct Professor of Religion and Law, teaching in the church- state relations seminar at the law school. Before going into the ministry, Bishop Pike was an attorney for the U. S. Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C., and a member of the faculty of the George Washington University Law School.

The author of several books and a veteran of various radio and television appearances, Bishop Pike will base his quarter-hour talks on one of his recent publications.

Now in its 29th year, THE ART OF LIVING is designed to stress the practical application of Christianity to everyday living and is produced by the National Council of Churches in cooperation with NBC Network.
