SOUP GAINS $3,206 FOR RELIEF
Many gallons of soup must have been consumed at the "Feed the Hungry Dinner" which was held during the 61st General Convention, for it was announced recently that the proceeds from the dinner, which will go to the Presiding Bishop's Fund for World Relief and Interchurch Aid, amounted to $3,206.25.
This money will help provide emergency aid during disasters, resettle refugees, and ship government surplus food to underdeveloped nations.
The tickets for the soup and crackers dinner were sold for $5, and the menu designed so that the maximum amount of money could be sent to the Fund.
