Mutual Responsibility Commission Named

The Presiding Bishop and the President of the House of Deputies, in consultation with the Presiding Bishop-elect, recently announced the members appointed to the Mutual Responsibility Commission.
They are: Bishop Wright of East Carolina, Bishop Donegan of New York, Bishop Crittenden of Erie, Bishop Kellogg of Minnesota, Bishop Buterfield of Vermont and Bishop Swift of Puerto Rico.
Also serving will be: the Rev. John Heuss of New York, the Rev. Canon C. Howard Perry of Northern California, the Very Rev. Almus Thorp of Ohio, the Rev. Paul M. Washington of Pennsylvania, the Rev. Robert A. Magill of Southwestern Virginia, the Ven. David R. Thornberry of Southern Ohio, Houston Wilson of Delaware, Fred Hargesheimer of Minnesota, the Hon. Thurgood Marshall of New York, Prime F. Osborne III of Florida, Munroe Bush of Washington, Robert Young of Los Angeles, Mrs. Harold Sorg of California, Mrs. Theodore O. Wedel of New York, Mrs. John H. Foster of West Texas, Mrs. Robert H. Durham of Michigan, the Hon. Frances Willis of Los Angeles, and John Sammond of Milwaukee.
The Commission will also have the services of several members of the Executive Council's staff as consultants: Bishop Bayne, director of the Overseas Department; Bishop Corrigan, director of the Home Department; Peter Day, Ecumenical Officer; the Rev. Canon Charles Guilbert, Secretary; Lindley M. Franklin, Treasurer; Carman St. J. Wolff, director of the Department of Christian Education, John W. Reinhardt, director of the Department of Promotion, and the Rev. Samuel Van Culin, information officer of the Overseas Department. Also serving as consultants will be the Rev. Massey H. Shepherd and the Rev. Canon Howard A. Johnson.
