Cuban Student Finishes College

Diocesan Press Service. January 8, 1965 [XXVIII-11]

Rafael Quintana is the first Cuban refugee student being sponsored by the Episcopal Church to graduate from college. He is one of 55 who this year are receiving sponsorship through the student program of the Episcopal Church.

Rafael graduated in December from the University of Florida, Gainesville, where he received his degree from the College of Business Administration.

Rafael was one of the early Episcopalians to come to the United States as a refugee. He has maintained a high standing at the university and has worked to help support himself.

He already has a fine position in Tampa in the field of communications.

The sponsorship of the Cuban Refugee students by the Episcopal Church has been made possible by contributions to the Presiding Bishop's Fund for World Relief.
