Young Volunteers Still Needed

Diocesan Press Service. April 7, 1965 [XXXI-3]

Each summer over 500 young churchmen work as volunteers in a variety of service programs through the Episcopal Church.

Many of the men and women serve in Urban Summer Programs in over 50 parishes in the United States (including Puerto Rico). Their jobs center around community organization and service in response to the needs of local citizens, as the church seeks to fulfill its task of ministry.

As a part of the MRI program, four groups of volunteers will work this summer in two dioceses of Tanzania.

Other volunteers will share their summer with American Indians and migrant workers.

Still others will join in Ecumenical Voluntary Service Programs in the U. S. and overseas, through the World Council of Churches.

There are still openings available in. most programs. Applicants should be 18 years of age or older although some programs are open to high school seniors.
