Laymen's Groups Meet
Diocesan Press Service. October 7, 1965 [XXXVI-9]
Four main objectives were agreed to when the Joint Committee of the Brotherhood of St. Andrew, Church Army and the General Division of Laymen's Work held its first meeting in the Army's Brooklyn headquarters Sep. 18-19.
The committee will seek to maintain communications among the member groups; to explore ways to be mutually helpful by coordinating programs where feasible and seeking new ways to nurture the ministry of the laity; to work for sound financial status for lay organizations, and to find ways of participating more effectively in Executive Council programs.
Lorraine Pitmat of Westport, Conn., a Church Army representative on the committee, was elected chairman. The committee is made up of three members of the General Division, two from the Church Army and two from the Brotherhood. Staff members are ex officio.
