DEADLINE FOR SIGNING UP FOR NEW HEALTH INSURANCE NEAR

Those 65 or older not now receiving Social Security benefits must get in touch with their local Social Security office before March 31 in order to be covered by the new voluntary health insurance provisions. The next "signing up" period will not be for another two years.

It is estimated that some 850,000 persons 65 or older are not registered on the social security, railroad retirement or public assistance roles and, therefore, do not receive aid in obtaining the voluntary insurance coverage which is available to them.

Another deadline to keep in mind is April 15. Clergy not now covered by Social Security have until that date to elect to be covered.

USO CELEBRATES 25TH ANNIVERSARY

On February 4 the USO will celebrate its 25th Anniversary.

Created in the 1940's by its Member Agencies - Young Men's Christian Association, the National Catholic Community Service, National Jewish Welfare Board, Young Women's Christian Association, the Salvation Army and the National Travelers Aid Association - to meet the crisis of the Second World War, USO has continued to provide valuable services to those in the Armed Services.

It maintains recreation centers in civilian centers where military personnel can relax in their off-duty hours, or find help in solving personal problems, and sends entertainment to military posts throughout the world.
