Whereas, by his resignation as Bishop of Rochester for personal reasons in 1969, the Rt. Rev. George W. Barrett forfeited his membership in this House; and

Whereas, since 1974 he has resided in Santa Barbara in the Diocese of Los Angeles, and during the time since that date has served as preacher, counselor, leader of study groups, quiet days and retreats both for parish and diocesan groups, and for the past seven years has served as Assisting Bishop in the Diocese of Los Angeles, taking confirmation visits and performing other episcopal acts for the Bishop of that diocese; therefore be it

Resolved, That this House grant to the Rt. Rev. George W. Barrett for this session of the House of Bishops the privilege of a seat and voice in its deliberations.

Seconded by the Bishop of Chicago.
