Resolved, That the 69th General Convention call upon the Secretary General of the United Nations to use his good office to prevail upon the United Nations representatives of the governments of Iran, Syria and Lebanon to convey to their respective governments an urgent plea to lend greater assistance in gaining the release of Terry Waite and other hostages still held by terrorist groups; and be it further

Resolved, That the 69th General Convention support the Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church and the Archbishop of Canterbury in their efforts to obtain the release of hostages; and be it further

Resolved, That a copy of this resolution be sent to the Secretary General of the United Nations, Representatives to the United Nations of the following governments: Iran, Syria and Lebanon; and to the Archbishop of Canterbury.
