Whereas, Korea was divided into North and South Korea at the end of World War II; and
Whereas, the division of the Korean peninsula led to a destructive war and still remains a threat to world peace; and
Whereas, the Governing Board of the National Council of the Churches of Christ in the United States has passed a resolution on the Peace and Reunification of Korea and asked its member churches to support efforts to heal the wounds this division has caused; therefore be it
Resolved, the House of Bishops concurring, That the 69th General Convention endorse the UCCC USA Peace and the Reunification of Korea Policy Statement and instruct appropriate Episcopal Church agencies, such as the National and World Missions and the Episcopal Asiamerica Ministry to use their resources to participate with UCCC USA in the implementation of this policy.
Proposed Committee Amendment:
In the Resolved clause, correct typographical errors in the second and fifth lines:
change "UCCC" to "NCCC."
