Resolved, That this 71st General Convention encourage individual parishes to establish a relationship with an inmate through their Parish Visitation Program and then to seriously consider adopting an initiative expanding their mission to include the support of a newly discharged inmate through the time necessary for that person to become self-sufficient in society; and be it further

Resolved, That the dioceses assist such parishes in providing necessary training and assistance to help them learn skills and techniques to be effective in this mission.

Resolved, the House of Bishops concurring, That this 71st General Convention encourage individual parishes to establish a relationship with an inmate through their Parish Visitation Program and then to seriously consider adopting an initiative expanding their mission to include the support of a newly discharged inmate through the time necessary for that person to become self-sufficient in society; and be it further

Resolved, That the dioceses consider using funds restored to them through the new apportionment from the National Church to assist such parishes in providing necessary training and assistance to help them learn skills and techniques to be effective in this mission.
