Resolved, That the 71st Convention of the Episcopal Church, in accordance with our faith in Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, urge the President of the United States, and the U.S. negotiators at Geneva, to take immediate international leadership in signing and implementing a comprehensive Test Ban Treaty in the coming year, and to pursue diplomatic initiatives, for the complete elimination of nuclear weapons design, testing, and manufacture anywhere in the world.

Resolved, the House of Bishops concurring, That the 71st Convention of the Episcopal Church urge the President of the United States, and our negotiators at Geneva, to take immediate international leadership in signing and implementing a comprehensive Test Ban Treaty at Geneva in the coming year, and to pursue all other diplomatic initiatives, domestically and internationally, for the complete elimination of nuclear weapons design, testing, or manufacture anywhere in the world by the year 2000, in accordance with our faith in Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace.
