Resolved, That Article II, Sec. 1 of the Constitution of the General Convention be amended to read:

In every Diocese the Bishop or the Bishop Coadjutor shall be chosen agreeably to rules prescribed by the Convention of that Diocese, provided that the retirement date of the Bishop Diocesan shall not be more than thirty-six months after the consecration of the Bishop Coadjutor. Bishops of Missionary Dioceses shall be chosen in accordance with the Canons of the General Convention; and be it further

Resolved, That this resolution be sent within six months to the Secretary of the Convention of every Diocese to be made known to the Diocesan Convention at its next meeting.

Resolved, the House of Deputies concurring, That Article II, Sec. 1 of the Constitution of the General Convention be amended to read:

In every Diocese the Bishop or the Bishop Coadjutor shall be chosen agreeably to rules prescribed by the Convention of that Diocese, provided that, in every election of a Bishop Coadjutor a date certain for the retirement of the Bishop be stated in the call of the Diocese for electing a coadjutor, which date shall be not more than twenty-four months after consecration of the Bishop Coadjutor. Bishops of Missionary Dioceses shall be chosen in accordance with the Canons of the General Convention.
